Airport Planning Intern (Various US Locations)

During your internship at Arup, you’ll have the chance to work with some of themost highly respected engineers and specialists in the world. You’ll also getthe opportunity to work on exciting and significant projects, deliveringquality work that has a positive and lasting influence on the community and theenvironment.


We are currently seeking Airport Planning Interns for 2017.  As an Airport Planning Intern, you will take part in thefollowing kinds of activities:


• CAD and graphic support with focus on airside,apron and boarding bridge planning but with involvement in other aspects ofairport and terminal planning.

•Develop standard drawings details.
•Aid in the review of cut-sheets and RFIs
•Help create specifications documents

•Work on the assessment, survey and review ofelectronic security systems and resilience, risk and security protectionprograms

•Aid in the preparation of reports as requested

•Work on defined tasks under limitedsupervision.


•Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in CivilEngineering, Planning, Architecture, or related

•3.0 GPA or higher

•Knowledge of CAD platforms (Microstation, AutoCAD) and Excel

•Experience with AutoCAD or other like software.

•Basic knowledge of graphics software packages:Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, PowerPoint.

•Good communication skills are essential for team-basedworking

•Excellent planning and organization skillsrequired for our fast-paced environment

•Must be highly motivated, proactive and willingto take on new challenges 


•Currently pursing Masters degree in CivilEngineering, Planning, Architecture, or related

•Internship experience with a design firm

•Evidence of past internship or extracurricularactivity in the field

•Proven ability to perform in a deadlineenvironment

•Past history of technical presentation andtechnical writing
