We are currently seeking a new team member who embraces BIM, new workflows, and disruptive technology.  The individual should possess a strong background in project production work with a focus on BIM.  Additionally, the prospective consultant should have a background as an Audiovisual Consultant who is interested in how audiovisual systems can play a meaningful part in an integrated, smart building. 
The position will be part of the Information Technology and Communications (ITC) “digital group” working on multidiscipline projects.  The project will have an emphasis on integrated control systems that interface building systems with user applications.  Initially the position will be focused on improving the firm’s BIM workflow and AV, then will progress towards other engineering and consulting disciplines and systems.

Primary Focus
The primary focus of the position is to provide BIM expertise, audiovisual design services to external and internal clients, and an additional focus on integrated building technology systems including information communication technology and smart building technology.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Support the ITC team in the production of audiovisual and structured cabling projects, moving to leading projects and project management as quickly as possible
  • Work to improve Arup’s BIM workflow and processes for consulting disciplines
Key Skills and Attributes
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), looking to achieve “designer” certification (CTS-D)
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and be a “self-starter”
  • Skilled in the use of CAD and Revit software platforms
  • Experience in the consulting engineering environment
  • Ability to empathize and collaborate with non-technical partners
  • Ability to relate and work well with other technical disciplines
  • Organized and able to effectively prioritize even when demands are significant
