We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Discipline Leader to work on a number of high profile, building and infrastructure projects in Toronto, Ontario.  The hired candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of 200 engineers and assist with various aspects of projects undertaken.
 
The role will include but is not limited to:
  • Manage current and future performance of the team by managing work and developing and mentoring the team for growth.
  • Lead the successful technical and commercial delivery of projects
  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them.
  • Day to day financial management of projects
  • Assist in winning new work.
  • Responsible and accountable for developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Will work closely with inter-disciplinary technical leaders and Practice Leadership
  • Recognized specialist in one or more areas of electrical systems
  • Manage medium to large projects, work area, or technical skill set, monitors quality of work, involved in client liaison, 
  • Undertake electrical systems design and perform calculations, predominantly for building and infrastructure projects.  
  • Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings
  • Prepare and review drawings detailing the design, report and specification writing. 
  • Coordinate work with other Arup disciplines and external Architects.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A sound knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals as they relate to buildings and rail projects.
  • PEO license
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding and exposure to multidisciplinary environment
  • Collaborative, helpful, “can-do”, and Client focused attitude
  • Experience in both infrastructure and buildings projects
  • Understanding of BIM and Revit MEP
  • Experience in the application of Canadian Electrical and Building Codes and Standards.
