We currently have a requirement for a Project Engineer - Electrical to join our growing Building Services Group.  Based in our Cork office, the ideal candidate will be looking to further their career and gain invaluable experience in Building Services within an established consultancy with a friendly office environment.  This is a permanent role and offers the successful candidate long-term opportunities for career development.


The successful candidate will be involved in a diverse and challenging range of design projects including commercial, industrial, retail, leisure and educational commissions.



  • Degree in Electrical Services engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience, most of which will be in design gained within a consultancy environment.
  • Experience in large-scale commercial and industrial projects.
  • Previous experience in leading a design team an advantage.
  • Chartered or close to achieving chartership.
  • Proven team player.
  • Organised and adaptable with a flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Report writing skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
  • Experience in the design of the main Building Services Electrical systems such as MV/LV distribution and protection, Lighting systems, Small Power, ICT systems, AV systems, Generators, UPS and Fire safety and Detection systems
  • Electrical design software incl. Amtech, Dialux.
  • Revit experience would be an advantage.

·        European language an advantage.

·        Open to travel for short business trips.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Project Planning.
  • Designing and reviewing design work of junior engineers.
  • Compilation of Specifications for Electrical Services and Installations.
  • Ensuring full co-ordination between specifications and drawings.
  • Estimating.
  • Cost Control in accordance with company standards on all projects.
  • Compiling project reports.
  • Conceptual design studies and report.
  • Training and professional development of junior and intermediate engineers working as part of group.
  • Liaising with architects, clients and other stakeholders to set the constraints of the electrical design and co-ordinate with all other disciplines in terms of the electrical requirements and the electrical discipline’s influence on all others.
