Arup is currentlyseeking Security Engineering Interns for 2017. As a Security Engineering Intern, you will take place in the followingkinds of activities:
Prepare drawings and incorporate drawing markups detailingelectronic security systems (ACAMS, CCTV, IDS, Operations Centers, etc.)designs as instructed
•Work on the assessment, survey and review of electronicsecurity systems and resilience, risk and security protection programs
•Perform physical protection security system designcalculations.
•Research, evaluate and select or make recommendations inthe selection of electronic security, surveillance and communications equipmentfor use in physical protection systems.
•Coordinate work and physical security protection systemrequirements with engineers of other disciplines that may be in-house orexternal.
•Attend meetings with senior staff to aid in the discussionand documentation of Client needs.
•Take responsibility for sections of work which may includesome supervision of other staff.
•Support resilience, risk and security consulting projectsin other Arup offices nationally and internationally upon direction of seniorNew York Resilience, Risk and Security Group staff.
•Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical,Mechanical, or Information Systems Engineering
•Sound knowledge and/or interest in electronic securitysystems (ACAMS, CCTV, IDS, Operations Centers, etc.) design and resilience,risk and security policies and programs.
•Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and other likesoftware.
•Good communication skills are essential for team-basedworking
•Excellent planning and organization skills required for ourfast-paced environment
•Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take onnew challenges.
•Past history of technical presentations and technicalwriting, knowledge sharing with peers
•Evidence of teamwork and leadership such as professionalaccomplishment or honor society
