Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our Boston office is currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical system design and coordination with other disciplines on a variety of building projects.
Qualified professionals will have a bachelor’s degree in Architectural/Mechanical Engineering, a PE license, 7-10 years of related experience and a proven track record of mechanical system design which incorporates the goal of sustainability.  Experience with LEED Certification and Project Management experience is a plus. 
·         HVAC System Design Requirements and Responsibilities
o   Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering
o   Track record of sustainable, low energy and innovative approach to design including projects designed to achieve LEED certification
o   Using the output of energy models to inform design decisions
o   Design of mechanical systems including: heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and water distribution, ventilation, air conditioning, building automation and controls.
o   Preparing contract drawings, detailing the designed systems and using Revit.
o   Writing of project reports and specifications
o   Engaging with contractors for pre-construction and construction support activity
o   Familiarity with codes, specifically CMR, IMC, ASHRAE standards 55, 62.1, 90.1
o   Coordinating work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
o   Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them. 
·         Team Building & Project Management Responsibilities
o   Managing development and work of other staff
o   Responsible for remaining current on new technology
o   Responsible for project management, including day to day financial management on medium or large projects.
·         Client Management Responsibilities
o   Proposal Writing
o   Communication Skills
o   Tailors design and services to meet client needs
o   Maintains good relationships with existing clients
·         Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Architectural Engineering
·         7-10 years of experience
·         PE required
·         NCEES preferred
·         LEED AP BD+C preferred
Top applicants will have experience with a broad range of building types both new and existing including airports, laboratories, commercial offices, classrooms, student residences, libraries and courthouses.  
·         Good communication skills essential for team-based working
·         Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
·         Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
