 Advanced Technology and Research Intern - Available Summer 2019

During your internship at Arup, you’ll have the chance to work with some of the most highly respected engineers and specialists in the world. Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Performing and report linear and non-linear, static and dynamic structural finite element analysis, principally for structural and geo-engineering applications (e.g. earthquake, wind, and vibration analysis)
• Collaborating with other structural engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers and risk consultants on innovative buildings and infrastructure projects
• Working on defined tasks under the close supervision of a senior engineer 

Qualifications

Required:


• Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Civil or Structural engineering
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher
• Interest and preferably experience in finite element analysis
• Fundamental knowledge of structural mechanics

Preferred:
 
• Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD Degree in Civil or Structural engineering
• 3.5 GPA or higher
• Good communication skills essential for team-based working
• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
• Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
• Proficiency/Fluency of another language
