Description

Engineer position available (San Francisco, CA)

• Interpret ground conditions by examining site investigation reports, including borehole logs, laboratory test data, and field tests, and study their impact on the design and construction of components of the built environment, such as buildings, bridges, highways, railroads and water/wastewater infrastructure;
• Perform site-specific probabilistic and deterministic seismic hazard calculations, calculate dynamic soil properties, perform site response analyses, and select, scale, and modify ground motion time histories for use in geotechnical and structural linear and nonlinear dynamic modeling;
• Assist in performing dynamic soil-structure interaction analyses, providing a link between the development of input ground motion time histories and the advanced numerical modeling;
• Work in digital applications in geotechnical engineering, including computer programming for automation of intensive calculations and analyses, and three-dimensional visualization of geological modelling and geotechnical testing and interpretation results;
• Requires Master's degree plus 2 years of experience.
