Lead Rail Consultant

Arup's Houston office is looking for a Lead Rail Consultant and Business Development Manager. You will undertake and supporting business development activities in rail engineering services in particular and Infrastructure engineering in general in Texas, the adjoining states and select areas of Central and South America on behalf of the Arup Infrastructure sector.

Job Duties:

  • Refine and perform a rail consulting and project based our strategy for the US south west building on the Americas Infrastructure region rail our strategy.

  • Develop rail engineering capability statements and marketing material as may be necessary to support the agreed strategy.

  • Undertake business development activities (develop industry and collaborator contacts and encourage forums) to support the agreed strategy of both the Arup rail and wider infrastructure businesses.

  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs to tailor Arup commercial proposals.

  • Lead the Houston rail engineering team

  • Coordinate with other rail and Infrastructure engineers in Arup

  • Attend construction site and offshore sites related to project and consultancy commission.

  • Coordinate of work with project drafting staff.

  • Management of work within agreed project target man-hours and expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering

  • Masters of Business Administration would be an advantage

  • 15 years engineering post graduate experience with at least 10 years' experience in rail engineering.

  • Licenses/Certifications/Specialized Training:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to work as part of a team, lead staff and engage with clients.
