Senior BIM Model Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Senior BIM Model Coordinator to join our growing buildings business and work with design engineers from Structural and MEP design teams.

As a Senior BIM Model Coordinator, you will apply the following:
• BIM management principles about model integrity, maintenance of templates/ families, and applications of best practice for data management
• BIM Modeling, CAD drafting, and use of Excel and databases for data manipulation and interoperability between BIM and analysis tools
• Apply logic and common sense to determine which of a wide variety of database/CAD/BIM applications is the most efficient and optimized approach to solving technical or geometric problems
• Manage the use of Modeling software to support engineers and BIM designers engaged in analysis and production work related to the design of various building types (high - rises, schools, museums, airports, etc...)
• Regularly review BIM model content, checking for errors and inconsistencies in the work of others, keeping files as small as possible through a systematic management process.
• Introductory training to company standards, including visual styles, discipline deliverable requirements and software capabilities
• Detailed training and use of a variety of software through on the job use
• Multi-disciplinary coordination within the 3D BIM models, helping to resolve interdisciplinary conflict
• Work closely with engineers and BIM Designers to create and issue drawing sets, including setup, quality assurance of model fidelity, documentation and archiving
• Work with design teams to implement and support Building Data use and manipulation within models and for export/import interfaces with other programs.
• Set up and maintain architectural models to ensure speed of production and to highlight changes to the rest of the team.

This role focuses on the management of BIM models and the use and manipulation of data that resides within them. It is not primarily a design or production drawing role.

• At least 6+ years of relevant work experience
• Good communication skills essential for team-based working
• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.
• Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
• Professional demeanor, attitude of taking initiative, Enthusiasm, Eagerness to learn
• Associate Degree in Building Information Modeling technology, Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology
• Familiarity with working in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction environment under deadlines
• Experience with BIM/CAD (AutoCAD) drafting, solids modeling, or related field
• Revit skills
• Excel skills


• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• Skills with 3D modeling (Rhino, SketchUp, Navisworks, Catia, Tekla, Digital Project, etc.) MicroStation
• History of technical drawing or model building
• Experience with realistic visualization tools and conversion of models to virtual/augmented reality
• Experience with data visualization and representation
• Experience with Revit APIs, C#.Net, VB.Net or Python and Dynamo.
