Senior Marketing Specialist

Arup is looking for a seasoned marketing and business development professional with 5-8 years’ experience in our vibrant and growing Texas practice. Based in either Houston or Dallas, you will work with local, regional, and global leaders to create and implement winning, client-focused strategies and high-impact collateral and proposals.

About our Texas practice and the Role:
In Texas, we have growing practices in Houston and Dallas. Best known for our work on Texas Central Railway, Menil Collection Buildings, Houston Uptown Mobility District, and numerous energy infrastructure projects, we focus on transportation, buildings and energy, with expectations for significant in each of these markets.
This is a hands-on role, requiring the professional to operate at multiple levels – engaging in visioning and strategy discussions and actively translating those discussions into actions, proposals, collateral, and events. The role includes:
•Coordinating, helping lead, and documenting market, client, and pursuit strategy discussions.
•Helping translate global, regional, and local market and client-facing strategies into specific local initiatives.
•Engaging in business development activities, including direct contact with your peers at our clients and partners.
•Collaborating in the preparation of information and materials for submittals, requests for information and proposals
•Coordinating and preparing qualification packages, tailored resumes and proposal responses, including forms and specialized documents.
•Developing and updating marketing materials, including project sheets, resumes and other collateral
•Maintaining our client relationship management system and other databases
•Supporting and coordinating events, seminars, and conferences
Our marketing professionals work in a collaborative and energetic environment to support each other and senior staff locally, and across our Americas region, in their ongoing marketing, business development and communication activities. As you help drive quality growth in Texas, you will serve as a critical connection between regional, global, and local strategies, collaborating with the 50-person marketing and communications team in Arup’s Americas region.
You excel at setting priorities and meeting deadlines. You are comfortable talking to staff at all levels of seniority and will be a natural fit facilitating and documenting strategy discussions and leading proposal kick-off meetings. You have excellent time management / prioritization skills, strong written English language skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
Your positive, confident and professional attitude is as important as any specific skills you might bring to this role. You have a steady hand, you have composure under pressure, can gain the confidence of senior leaders, recognize where you can contribute meaningfully, and take pride in a job well done, whatever that job might be on any given day.
You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, especially InDesign, Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
You have a bachelor’s degree and excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills. Ideally, you bring at least 5 years of experience as a marketing professional in the A/E/C industry, preferably in the public-sector realm or perhaps in another service industry.
It would be great if you have experience with Microsoft CRM, but we will train you on this powerful system at the heart of our marketing program. Involvement with local marketing and or A/E/C organizations a plus, as is willingness to attend events on behalf of the firm.
