We are currently seeking a Technology Consultant in our San Francisco office to work as part of a multidisciplinary team engaged in the design of IT and Communication systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.
Apply technology to the built environment, including design of communication infrastructure systems, structured cabling systems, wireless data networks, audiovisual systems, smart building systems, IoT, CCTV, access control.
Work collaboratively with our team in SF and other Arup offices and manage the low voltage systems efforts within projects
Be an active team member in the successful delivery of technology infrastructure and systems for commercial, government, healthcare and aviation projects.
Engage in systems planning from project inception through completion, including writing reports
Document systems design drawings including plans, details, and specifications.
Perform system design calculations
Day to day self-management
Work with the leadership team to prepare proposals
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field
2-6 years of relevant experience in the industry
A sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals as they relate to building technology system design.
Full project delivery, including narrative design briefs / programs; studies; sketches; decision matrices; 3D design and BIM model work; contract 2D drawing packages; specifications; and CA work
Excellent interpersonal skills will be needed to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other team members
Familiar working with Microsoft Office products and Autodesk's Revit
Self-motivated with excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment, taking a proactive approach and willing learn new technologies and engage with new challenges
Experience across a range of project types: high rise commercial, healthcare, post-secondary education, convention centers, airports, etc.
Knowledge some of the following fields are a differentiator: BMS, lighting, smart buildings, DAS. security, and AV.
The following certifications are a plus:
LEED AR DB+C
